Um dos pontos de maior interesse em Barcelona, quer pelas maravilhosas vistas, quer pelo acesso por teleférico é o Montejuic. O Monte de Jove ergue-se sobre a cidade e segundo se diz é o melhor parque da cidade, onde também se podem encontrar dois museus.
Os primeiros povos a habitar a zona instalaram-se ali muitos antes dos Romanos. Metade da cidade foi construída com as pedras destas colinas.
Quando Barcelona recebeu os Jogos Olímpicos em 1992, o Montjuic tornou-se o monte de Olimpo, com o anel olímpico visível de toda a cidade.
O Castelo é uma das principais atrações deste local, sendo a sua entrada gratuita. Na verdade o castelo é mais um Forte, erigido em 1640, e era usado como prisão e local de exexuções durante a guerra civil espanhola. Até 2007 albergou um Museu Militar, sendo posteriormente transformado num centro de paz. O acesso ao Monte pode ser feito através de teleférico ou por estrada.
Pode ainda passear-se pelos vários jardins e recantos sombrios ou tomar um refresco no bar com vista sobre a colina.

One of the main points of interest in Barcelona eiher because of the stunning views, either by the cable car access is Montejuic. The Mount of Jove rises over the city and is arguably the best city park, where you can also find two museums.
The first people to inhabit the area settled there long before the Romans. Half the town was built with the stones of those hills.
When Barcelona hosted the Olympic Games in 1992, Montjuic became Hill Olympus, with the Olympic ring visible throughout the city.
The Castle is one of the main attractions of this place, and it's entrance is free. Actually the castle is more like of a Forte, built in 1640, and used as a prison and place of executions during the Spanish Civil War. Until 2007 it housed a Military Museum, and subsequently was transformed into a center of peace. Mount cccess can be done by cable car or by road.
You can also know the various gardens and beautifull corners or take a refreshment at the bar overlooking the hill.
